Very early in Stephen's childhood, we noticed how he could sing to a jingle or hum to music with ease. At family
gatherings, he would sing to entertain us, and we found it amusing that such a big voice would come out of such a little
boy.
We always found it soothing when we asked him to sing. There was, and is, something about his voice that reaches
deep within, with piercing comfort and tranquility.
We find his ability amazing, considering that as a toddler he had suffered from a hearing disorder that also affected his
ability to communicate. After taking him to medical specialists, and following much prayer, his hearing loss was
diagnosed and treated.
We believe that when Stephen came out of this, God blessed him with a good ear for music and a vocal prowess that
can only be gifts from the Lord Himself.
At first, his singing was limited to his school choir, where he earned district choir honors in 4th and 5th grades.
Quickly, word got out about his abilities, and before he knew it, he was performing songs for the first time before
non-school audiences. He was often asked if he had recorded a CD, and that has led to this endeavor.
Stephen recorded most of the songs on this CD at age 11. Our hopes are that as you listen, you too will find his
songs both soothing and inspiring.
